The Kahok girls’ bowling team advanced to state this past month, meaning the end of another great season. The tournament was held at Cherry Bowl in Rockford, IL. Eight of the girls on the team competed at state where they placed eleventh out of twenty-four teams who also attended.

“It obviously wasn’t really the outcome that we wanted,” said Zoë Howell, a senior on the team. “Still, making it to state was a great opportunity.”

The team prepares for its season with four days of practice a week that lasts around two hours. They also have a tournament almost every Saturday. The team is sponsored by coaches Joe Legendre, Mark Bruncic, and Sean Hay (who also teaches biology here at CHS).
