Introducing New International Students here at Collinsville
Meet Francesco Isello from Italy, he is a senior here and is interested in joining the basketball team. In Italy, he has one brother who is 20 years old. He says he misses his family and is eager to see them again after this school year. When asked about the school differences between here and Italy he said Italy was a lot harder but the school here was more fun. Francesco’s favorite American food is burgers and fried chicken while his favorite Italian food is La pasta carbonara. He is excited to be here this year and wants to return to the US, preferably somewhere on the West Coast eventually. A fun fact about Francesco is that he played tennis for 10 years. Lastly, he says to “believe in your dreams.” We are excited to welcome him here and see how he enriches our school.
Meet Theo Liu from France. He is a junior here and wants to find some clubs to join. Theo lives in the southwest of France with his parents, three sisters, and one brother. He is interested in coming back to the US eventually and states that he was in Florida for two months before coming to Collinsville. Some of his favorite things here are burgers, accounting class, the color black, and dogs. When asked what is different about school in France, he states that France schools are a lot harder and that they have two hours for lunch in France. We are excited to welcome Theo this year at Collinsville and excited to see how he enjoys and learns from this school.
Meet Alisa Senasana from Thailand. She is a sophomore here and is currently in the baking and gardening club. She is in no advanced classes and she is 15 years old. She lives with her parents and has no siblings. When asked what she misses about Thailand she said her family and friends. In Thailand everyone is in one big class, so, very different from here. Alisa says that she loves dogs, the color pink, Pizza, burgers, and the Tom Yum Kung which is a favorite from back home. She is very active, doing badminton and swimming, and is excited to be here this year. We are excited to welcome Alisa and hope that she enjoys her first time being in the US.
Meet Davide Santuari. He is a senior here at Collinsville and is 16 years old. He is from Italy and has one brother. Davide’s brother was an exchange student here in the past this allowed Davide to visit Collinsville before he decided also to be an exchange student for a year. Some fun facts about Davide is he plays soccer and is on the soccer team here. His favorite color is blue, his favorite class here is PE, and his favorite food is pizza. When asked if it has been easy meeting new people and making new friends he said it has been pretty easy. Like many of the other exchange students, he agrees that schooling here is a lot easier than back home but that it is also more fun. He misses the food from back home but overall is happy and excited to be here and can’t wait to see what this school year brings. We are excited to welcome Davide Santuari and hope that he makes many new and happy memories while he’s here
