Kahok Krazies has been a tradition at Collinsville High School since 2006. The Krazies are a group that helps bring school spirit and encourages students to attend all school events.
The Kahok Krazies, a student group that brings school spirit and encourages students to attend school events, has a new sponsor who has made several changes. The new sponsor and teacher, Mr. Brady O’Neil, had a vision for this group, one that goes beyond school spirit. He has made many changes, such as jerseys for krazies, doubled the amount of krazies, and helped out the community, such as trash pick up, and implemented assemblies for the elementary schools. He stated that, as for the future Krazie plans, he wants to be more involved in the community, wants to help excite the younger school kids for their future school, have a big senior night for every sport, and overall be more involved in all sports.
As for getting more school spirit, student Kylie Noonan stated, “We could open up a spirit wear closet for graduating seniors to donate dress-up items to lower classmen. We could also incorporate more music into sports games!”
Luke Berger voiced that posting on social media and pep rallies are what he thinks would help students be more involved, especially when it comes to sports other than football. Football is the most popular sport because it is at the beginning of the school year, when students are more excited about school events.
As years go on, the Krazies will continue to improve by becoming more involved with the community, by listening to what the people really need. Stating this, the krazies will improve their future.
