Looking forward to 2021

Logan O, Staff Writer

Everyone knows what kind of year 2020 has been and it hasn’t been a good one. With Kobe Bryant and Chadwick Boseman passing away, Covid sweeping the nation, and many cancelations and terrible things later, we have arrived at the doorstep of 2021. Since 2020 is nearly over and no one is looking back on it at all, here are some things to look forward to in 2021.

Mrs. Arnold, the video production teacher, looks forward to things hopefully getting under control.

“I am looking forward to COVID being under control and being able to spend time with my mom and friends. I am also looking forward to having my students back in my classroom with their masks off so I can see their beautiful smiles,” said Mrs. Arnold.

In addition, Mrs. Arnold is looking forward to a second chance at a summer trip to Disney, Universal Studios, and the beach. Does anyone remember what sand feels like?

CHS Counselor Karen Olsen is also looking forward to having students back in the building and for all the classes, clubs, and sports to resume and return to normal.

Senior Moises Rodriguez looks forward to social activities in 2021. Many people have been itching to go back to concerts and sporting events, so many people can relate to Moises on this.

As scary as 2020 has already been, Sophomore Mason Foley hopes to be scared even more as he looks forward to the new “Halloween Kills” movie. The movie brings infamous horror icon Micheal Myers back to life, once again, to battle Laurie Strode. Will this be the final encounter between the two, or will we get 20 more? The movie releases October 15, 2021.

As we leave 2020 behind and look to 2021, let’s not forget some of the good things that have happened this year.

Pet adoptions went up a massive amount, we found a way for sports to work and bring people together, drive in movie theaters and concerts were revived, people found new hobbies, and so much more.

If this year has taught us anything, it’s to be grateful for what we have and not take anything for granted.
